Paediatricians are specialists in the care of babies, infants and adolescents. In Australia Paediatricians have completed a minimum of 6 years at university to obtain a Medical Degree, then 2 years in a Hospital as a junior doctor, followed by a minimum of 6 years in a Paediatric Training programme in a teaching hospital.
Paediatricians are members of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
You will need a referral from your General Practitioner, a referring hospital or other medical practitioner (e.g. specialist, such as Obstetrician & Gynaecologist) before an appointment can be booked. Once you have a referral please call 03 5721 3873 and speak to our friendly receptionist staff to book an appointment.

Referrals from General Practitioner’s generally last 12 months. After this you are required to obtain a new referral prior to booking your next appointment, otherwise you are unable to access the Medicare rebate for that consultation.
We are a fee for service clinic. Our consultation fees vary according to the type and length of consultation being provided. If you have a current referral the majority of the consultation fee can usually be claimed back through Medicare leaving a gap that is currently $130 (as of 01/01/2025).
If you fail to attend for an appointment without at least 24 hours notice, you may incur a non-attendance fee.
Our reception staff will do their best to answer telephone queries however if it is a clinical or complex matter please make an appointment to discuss it with your Paediatrician. Such matters are not usually discussed over the phone.
If the matter is regarding an expired prescription your Paediatrician may be able to provide a script to continue on the same medication until your next appointment. But please be aware that if the circumstances have changed or you are requesting a different dose or different medication or a medication review, your child will need a new appointment.
Please endeavour to have prescriptions supplied during your consultations. If your prescription expires outside of your appointment time, your Paediatrician may be able to provide a script to continue on the same medication until your next appointment. Please allow at least 2 weeks for this to happen.
But please be aware that if the circumstances have changed or you are requesting a different dose or different medication or a medication review, your child will need a new appointment.
Note that there is a fee charged for prescriptions requested outside of appointment times.
